Pocono SAR Responds to Search for Missing Man:

Pocono SAR was requested on 10/26/08 at approximately 9:00 a.m. The subject is a Susquehanna County, Pa 30 year old male missing since 10/25/08 @ 0900 hours. This now the second day of searching efforts 10/27/08.

GIBSON -- Authorities are searching for a missing 30-year-old Susquehanna County man who went missing Saturday afternoon, according to state police at Gibson.

Philip R. Page of 1342 Lakeview Road, Jackson Twp., walked away from his residence at about 3:45 p.m. and was last seen wearing a black or gray T-shirt and gray sweat pants, police said.

Mr. Page is described as 6 feet 1 inch tall, 190 pounds, with reddish brown hair along with a beard and mustache, police say.

Anyone with information about Mr. Page's whereabouts is asked to contact state police at 465-3154.

Pocono SAR Responds to Search for Missing Hunter:

Pocono SAR was requested by North East SAR and Pennsylvania State DCNR for a missing 58 year old overdue hunter. Nescopeck State Park, White Haven, Pa on 10/23/08 at approximately 8:30 p.m.

Pocono SAR is now on Day 2 of this operation 10/24/08.

Pocono SAR Responds to Search for Missing Man:

Pocono SAR was requested by Richfield Fire Department and Blue Mountain SAR on 10/16/08 at approximately 3:00 p.m. The subject is a Richfield, Pa 26 year old down syndrome male missing since Tuesday 10/14/08 @ 2100 hours.

The Daily Item October 24, 2008: Missing man found at rescue mission

RICHFIELD — A mentally handicapped man missing for more than a week was found at a rescue mission in Lebanon on Thursday.

David Edgar Landis, 26, of Richfield, walked away from Richfield Meats, his father’s business, the night of Oct. 14.

Search parties in three counties looked for Landis, but were unable to find him.

According to a release from state police at Lewistown, he hitchhiked to the Lebanon area with a truck driver, who dropped him off at the Lebanon County Rescue Mission on Oct. 17.

Staff members at the mission grew concerned that Landis was missing from somewhere and contacted state police in Jonestown, Lewistown troopers said. Troopers at the Jonestown barracks recognized Landis and contacted Lewistown with the information.

Landis’ family was contacted and was still with him at the mission on Thursday, according to state police. Landis was in good health.

Pocono SAR was requested by Pennsylvania State DCNR for a missing 53 year old overdue hunter. Weiser State Forest, Barnesville, Pa on 10/16/08 at approximately 3:00 a.m.

Pocono SAR was requested by Pennsylvania State DCNR for a overdue hunter, on 9/26/08 at approximately 1:00 a.m. JIM THORPE, 129 LENTZ TR. The subject walked out under his own power. He got disoriented at dark and built a shelter overnight. The closest UTM coordinates: 18T0434596

Pocono SAR Responds to Search for Missing Child:

Pocono SAR was requested by Carbon County EMA on 9/19/08 at approximately 8:30 p.m. for a search in Palmerton. The subject was a 4 year old child missing since approximately 6:30 p.m., the subject was found alive hiding in a garage.
